jurassic period plants
by: william poyner
The Jurassic period had many plants including gingkoes, cycads, williamsonia, ferns, horsetails, and club mosses. Flowering plants also evolved during the late Jurassic period. Without the plants of the Jurassic period, the large dinosaurs wouldn't survive as long as they did.
Gingko-(gĭng'kō):
A non-flowering plant also called a maidenhair tree. The dominant plant of the Jurassic period. The Japanese sometimes call this plant I-cho or "tree with leaves like a ducks foot"
the gingko is also believed to be able to cure alzhiemers.
